Remembering James Ellis at 90

James Ellis would have celebrated his 90th birthday on 15th March this year, and to mark the occasion, and to celebrate the opening of the James Ellis Bridge on the Connswater Community Greenway 4 years ago, EastSide Greenways is hosting an evening of celebration of his life, work and legacy.

Actor, director, writer and famous son of east Belfast James Ellis, affectionately known as Jimmy, became a household name in the early 1960s playing PC Bert Lynch in the BBC police series Z Cars before performing in many other television roles including in Graham Reid's Billy plays trilogy, Doctor Who, Ballykissangel and Only Fools and Horses.

The online event will include reflections and stories from family members and those working in the arts remarking on his contribution and legacy.

Guest speakers to be announced.

Please register by Friday 26th March at 12pm.

*The Zoom link to join the event will be emailed on Friday 26th March*
