Templemore Baths Heritage Space

Templemore Baths Heritage Space preserves original Victorian features of the only remaining public baths on the island of Ireland. The restoration of the building has led to the establishment of a new visitor attraction in east Belfast which aims to connect people to the social history of the baths and local area. 

Many original features have been lovingly restored including the ‘Major Pool’, which is fully operational, and the old slipper baths. The former courtyard has been transformed into an attractive new atrium with a café. Templemore Cafe is operated by The Armstrong Group (The Lamppost, JACK).

EastSide Tourism will animate the heritage space in Templemore Baths through a programme of tours, workshops and events that will engage the local community, schools and visitors. An event space is also available for hire which provides a beautifully unique space for a range of events, activities and meetings.

On a visit to the space you will:

• learn how local people used Templemore Baths to keep clean and to swim for sport and leisure.
• have the opportunity to watch videos, listen to audio and play games.

Templemore Baths Heritage Space and Leisure & Spa Facilities opened to the public on Monday 19 June 2023.

You can currently visit the Heritage Space (self-guided) Monday- Friday, 09:00-17:00 and Saturday-Sunday, 10:00-14:00.

Belfast City Council has invested £12 million in the project, with the remaining £5 million coming from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

EastSide Tourism, part of EastSide Partnership, is the operator of the heritage space at the refurbished Templemore Baths, on behalf of social enterprise operator GLL and in partnership with Belfast City Council.
