Fleadh Fringe in 
East Belfast

This summer, the streets of Belfast will be filled with craic agus ceoil with the arrival of an Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026. There will be plenty to see, do and hear, and in east Belfast you’ll be able to find a wide variety of events to attend.

The Strand – When Belfast Danced

Experience the magic of Belfast’s dance halls brought back to life. Enjoy music from a live band, learn the steps with a ‘dance caller’ and immerse yourself in local archive footage.

The Duncairn’s Super Sundays are free, family-friendly community gatherings bringing music, creativity, conversation and connection into communities across North, South, East and West Belfast. Special guest artists from the Fleadh will make surprise appearances, alongside local musicians.  Inclusive, welcoming and open to all ages, these special events help build relationships, celebrate local culture and contribute to a Fleadh for all.

Tinteán East

Tinteán is an intimate live music series inspired by the warmth of house concerts and late-night sessions.

Lunchtime Concert with Ryan Molloy and Brid Harper


6th August – Doors 1:30pm

Scott’s Jazz Club

Two of Ireland’s finest musicians, Ryan Molloy (piano) and Bríd Harper (fiddle), play their album, ‘foinse’, in a lunchtime recital at Scott’s Jazz Club, featuring the club’s beautiful grand piano. The album reflects on and renews their shared musical journey, preserving a collection of tunes passed from teacher to student.

Trad in the Bullhouse

Bullhouse East

Story, Song and Fiddle is an intimate pop-up concert in the unique setting of Secret Market greengrocers Belfast, bringing together three distinctive voices in words and music. Deirdre Kelly is a Belfast-based writer and performer whose storytelling is warm, observant and rooted in lived experience. Áine Gordon is a Belfast-based singer-songwriter working in contemporary folk, known for her melodic, narrative-driven songs. Conor Caldwell is a north Belfast fiddle player, researcher and teacher of Irish traditional music, celebrated for his energetic northern fiddle style.

From the Dingle Wren to the Streets of Belfast – with Harry Bradley, Rev Gary Hastings and Aoife Granville.
 
In this special co-production from EastSide Arts and Drogheda’s Seán Corcoran Series you can join three of our finest flute and fife players for tunes and chat exploring the vibrant musical traditions across the island, from marching bands, Lambeg and fife, to house dances, sessions and fleadhs.
 

Rónán Ó Snodaigh & Myles O’Reilly & Róisín El Cherif

Delighted to welcome Rónán Ó Snodaigh (founding member of KILA) and Myles O’Reilly (musician & filmmaker) to East Belfast for a cracking night of music at Skainos on the Newtownards Road. 
 
Two artists known for pushing traditional and folk music into bold new territory while never losing touch with the roots of it all. Expect rhythm, heart, experimentation and a live connection between performers and audience. 
 
Róisín El Cherif, an Irish-Palestinian artist from Galway, creates a mesmerising fusion of Arabic and Irish musical traditions. Her unique style weaves Arabic songs into mournful Irish airs, offering a poignant reflection of her dual heritage. Inspired by the macaronic Irish song tradition, which historically used mixed languages to challenge authoritative codes, El Cherif introduces Arabic verses to celebrate and highlight the deep ties between Irish and Palestinian cultures.
 
Note: this is an alcohol-free venue.
 

Highlands, Islands and Ireland Concert at St Colmcille’s Church

St. Colmchille’s Church

An evening of Gaelic and Gàidhlig hymns, psalms, airs, laments and folk songs with five of the finest tradition bearers from Scotland and Ireland. 
Kathleen MacInnes, Michelle Burke, Margaret Stewart accompanied by James Ross on keys and Laoise Kelly on harp, bring together songs and melodies shaped by islands, coastlines and generations of memory. Rooted in language and place, this is a rare gathering of extraordinary musical voices.
