In August 2018, EastSide Tourism launched the 'Meet an EastSider' scheme through the EastSide AuthentiCity Project funded by Urban Villages NI. This scheme offers visitors the chance to meet up with local volunteers for an informal 'greet' during their visit to east Belfast. These greets last approx. 30 minutes and are based at EastSide Visitor Centre. Greets are specifically aimed at connecting visitors with locals who can offer an authentically warm welcome and share their personal recommendations on the best places to visit, eat, drink, see and do in east Belfast.
